 |
- Productivity measurement tool: The system allows management to see individual employee movement and productivity. Real time reporting allows problems to be addressed faster than in the past.
- Productivity: Sales are up 20%, hours worked (including drivers, warehouse and mill employees) are up 5%
- Receiving: We now have the ability to receive and put away more products with the same number of people. Receiving mistakes are down significantly.
- Non-Stock Tracking: A significant portion of our business is with non-stock items. Keeping track of this product category was virtually impossible in the past. With the WMS system in place non-stocks are tracked and located in minutes with damage and lost items gone.
- Loading & Shipping: The ability to locate doors and carts from the guns has enabled the night loading crews to operate more efficiently. We are loading more products with the same number of people.
- Mill Picking: The ability to locate products in the warehouse has streamlined the mill picking process. 30 to 35 skids of doors are picked each night with no mistakes. This has enabled the mill to proceed with their daily production with no interruptions.
- Tracking Damage: Because the system forces us to address damaged products we are now able to determine exactly where and when damage is occurring. With this real time knowledge we can address the causes and make changes to improve.
- Transfers: Inter-company branch transfers are more accurate. We can receive and pick transferred items faster.
- Cycle Counts: With the WMS system in place we can now cycle count the warehouse in any given month. We hope to eliminate the need to do regular inventory counts.
